We were still at the same spot at Playa del Mojon, and on this day we had
an amazing evening. As the sun set a thunder storm was on the horizon. We
could see rain coming down on the hills behind us, but we stayed dry the whole
time. The sunset lit up the rain into a golden glow, I don't think I've seen
anything like it before. Shortly thereafter the lightning really started to
kick up, it was streaks that stayed in the clouds and never reached the ground.
It was a full moon, and it appeared between the clouds during this time, to
make a natural combination of sunset, clouds, lightning, moon and ocean. I
was pretty happy with the resulting photographs, although it was impossible
to capture it as we saw it.

A shot of the rain falling on the hills
as the sunset. The camera did a good job of catching the color of the
rain. |

Here's a rare group photo of us all, as
the sun sets and the clouds turn colors. |

This is a cool shot that is better than
what I actually took a picture of. I kept the shutter open for 15 seconds,
hoping to catch both the full moon and a lightning bolt. However this
picture is much more colorful than what it actually was, since it had
turned quite dark by this point. A glow of lightning created the lighter
part in the middle. |

This is another 15 second exposure, except
this time I did manage to catch a lightning bolt, which you can see in
the middle of the photo. |

Here is a closeup of the full moon as it
appeared between the clouds. The crane is part of some construction going
on of some tall apartment buildings right next to us. It seems that all
of spanish coast is being developed. |

2 Meg Panoramic Movie, AVI format |
This is a screenshot of a 21 second movie
I took with the camera, panning around our place to give a better idea
of our scenery. In it you can see the tail end of the sunset, then a flash
of lightning in the hills, and then the beach. Look for the van as well,
the inside is lit by candlelight. |
