Paris Gallery

After finishing our language school in Madrid, Jules and I decided to go and see my friend and former exchange student, Nick Devirieu, who lives on the outskirts of Paris these days. It was nice to be in a new city, but Paris was much colder and windier than Madrid, so we spent a lot of time indoors; I still managed to get a few good pictures.

Shot of the Eiffel Tower at night. A pretty typical shot but it turned out well so I thought I would put it up. The beam is a circulating spotlight that goes around and around until they turn off the lights of the tower at 1 a.m.

Another shot of the Eiffel Tower, this time from the base of the tower.

A picture of Notre Dame, taken from a bridge crossing the Seine River. This is my favorite picture taken in Paris.

A view of inside Notre Dame, where they happened to be having a special night service for the holidays. Standing on the right is Jules. An impressive building to say the least.

Jules and I in front of the Arc de Triumph, taken on one of the coldest days of the trip, which explains the winter hats and scarves. In my quest to minimize my packing I unwisely chose not to bring a winter jacket of any kind, just a waterproof shell, so Nick lent me his retro style jean jacket, which I took a liking to. He also lent me his scarf. Jeez was I ill prepared for temperatures below freezing. I fixed that problem when we went back to NC for Christmas.
